It is with great sadness that we share that Steve Manoussakis, Founder of SKG, passed away on Sunday, 4 October 2026.

Steve founded SKG in 1975, and the company, people and relationships that exist today are the result of the foundation he built more than 50 years ago.

Given his passing, SKG 50: The Art of Service, scheduled for Friday 16 October at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, has been postponed and will not proceed on this date. The celebration will instead take place in October 2027.

This was to be an evening celebrating 50 years of SKG, a milestone that simply would not exist without Steve. In keeping with the Manoussakis family's Greek Orthodox traditions, this is now a period of mourning, during which celebrations are not held.

At this time, our focus is with the Manoussakis family and the wider SKG family as we mourn his loss, honour his life and reflect on the extraordinary legacy he leaves behind.

We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support, excitement and kind messages we received in the lead-up to the event, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused by the postponement.

Further information regarding the rescheduled October 2027 celebration will be shared in due course.
